Director's Welcome

Exciting exhibitions fill the galleries, while behind the scenes we are incredibly busy—planning and carrying out the renovation of the BMA's facility and the reinstallation of important collections. We can't wait to share the exciting results!

With the Contemporary Wing reopening less than one year away, the roof has been replaced and reinforced, and the new interior will soon boast softer lighting, floors in warmer tones, and crisp white walls. We're adding a blackbox gallery for video and digital media, and you can anticipate several new works of art making their debut next fall. Look for a brillant site-specific installation by Sarah Oppenheimer that will connect spaces and people in ways never imagined before.

There's more to come in the years ahead—renovations in the American Wing and a more welcoming visitor's entrance. Keep up with news on the renovation at artbma.org/renovation or come to the Museum. There will always be great art to experience!
