The Sondheim and Baker awards offer two opportunities each year to celebrate the wealth of creative talent in the Baltimore region. The awards were initiated by the Baltimore Office of Promotion and the Arts (BOPA) and the William G. Baker, Jr. Memorial Fund. The Sondheim Award is administered by BOPA, and the Baker Artist Awards are administered by the Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance.
