Geneviève McMillan’s vast collection of non-European art filled the Cambridge, Massachusetts, home that regularly served as a gathering-place for that city’s brightest minds. This trough, once a container for meat offerings during harvest festivities, evokes the Dogon origin myth wherein a horse-shaped ark transported founding ancestors from heaven to earth.
