Kai-Yun Chiu recently presented the BMA with an important group of traditional paintings and calligraphies in honor of her parents. These works were created by some of China’s most noteworthy mid-20th century artists who worked in the tumultuous decades preceding the founding of the People’s Republic of China. These are the first calligraphies to enter the Museum’s collection.
