About the Campaign
The future in a new light
Pablo Picasso and Andy Warhol. Baga Headdresses. Baltimore painted furniture. Tang Dynasty ceramics. The largest Matisse collection in the world. As we approach our 100th anniversary, The Baltimore Museum of Art is recognized as a world-class institution.
- Our exhibitions garner critical praise and national press coverage, and engage new and constantly expanding audiences.
- Free admission and dynamic educational programs continue to widen the circle of those who love the museum, and deepen the quality of their experience.
- Prestigious national grants are recognizing the BMA’s innovation and leadership.
In A New Light: The Campaign for The Baltimore Museum of Art, is an unprecedented philanthropic initiative with a goal of $65 million. Launched at the start of one of the most severe economic recessions in memory, the campaign has already raised $54.4 million—and has the momentum to exceed our original goal—thanks to generous private donations, major support from national foundations, and City, State, and Federal grants.
The campaign is increasing the Museum's operating endowment, supporting an ambitious capital renovation that will provide a museum worthy of our world-class collection, and making the BMA a must-see cultural destination, a great civic presence, and a leading center for scholarship. We invite you to join us as we shine a light on the BMA.
