BMA FunPacks
*Please note that our Family FunStop is currently under construction, but will be back and better than ever starting in 2010. But there is still plenty of family fun to enjoy! Make sure to check out our Free Family Sundays from 2 – 4 p.m. every Sunday or grab a Family Audio Tour from a Visitor Services Representative.
When the FunStop reopens, look for two different self-guided kits that invite kids to dress up or sketch their way through the galleries.
*Costume Pack
The Costume Pack invites younger children ages 4–12 to try on costumes and “step into” portraits from the collection. Find works of art from early American to African represented by the costumes with easy-to-read maps and historical clues, and explore the cultural and social histories of the people represented.
*Sketch Pack
Older children, teens, and adults can sharpen their drawing skills with a sketch pad and pencils, using works in the BMA’s collection as models. Some of the works include Henry Moore’s contemporary sculpture Three Rings; the American decorative art object Horn Chair (1880–1890); and masks from the BMA’s African art collection.
