BMA FunPacks
Three different self-guided kits invite kids to dress up, sketch, or sing their way through the galleries. These kits are available every Thursday and Saturday from 11 a.m.–3 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m.–4 p.m.
Song Pack
The Song Pack is a toe-tapping tour-in-song of the collection, featuring music from some of the area’s finest musicians and talented local elementary school students. Check out a personal CD player, CD, headphones, and map to discover 15 works of art listening to songs.
Costume Pack
The Costume Pack invites younger children ages 4–12 to try on costumes and “step into” portraits from the collection. Find works of art from early American to African represented by the costumes with easy-to-read maps and historical clues, and explore the cultural and social histories of the people represented.
Sketch Pack
Older children, teens, and adults can sharpen their drawing skills with a sketch pad and pencils, using works in the BMA’s collection as models. Some of the works include Henry Moore’s contemporary sculpture Three Rings; the American decorative art object Horn Chair (1880–1890); and masks from the BMA’s African art collection.
