Notable incidents in life of the Historical Buddha, from his birth, through childhood, youth, adulthood, old age and death, were important in the dissemination of the faith through oral, literary and artistic traditions. This figure depicts one of the Eight Great Events of Buddha's life, when, just after his birth, he was able to stand and walk instead of showing the helplessness of an ordinary baby.
