A rectangular sampler of natural unbleached cream colored linen canvas with 19 holes to the inch embroidered in wool threads of multiple colors. Eighteen conventional stitched motifs include geometric, architectural, ribbon/lace trim, geometric and others irregularly scattered across the sampler's surface. The designs are worked in wool threads in multiple colors among which are red, orange, yellow, gold, brown, black, lt. olive green, dark olive green, purple, lavender, lt. and dark blue, and black. Stitches used include tent, cross, smyrna or rhodian, and laced chain. Framed in contemporary frame.
